HISTORY: lethargic, pale, anaemic HCT 22, bloods – elevated granulocytes, monocytes, tbil 27; urine sg off scale, protein+++ blood ++

CHARGES: abdominal ultrasound

SUMMARY:

The moderate splenomegaly is a nonspecific change but is most likely to be associated with haematologic changes eg extramedullary haemopoeisis. No other sonographic abnormalities

LIVER: Normal – normal size, regular margins, uniform homogeneous mild hypoechogenicity

BILIARY TRACT: Normal no cholestasis, gallbladder thin walled, very mild quantity of biliary sediment

SPLEEN: Abnormal: moderate splenomegaly, regular margins, mild diffuse slightly patchy hypoechogenicity

LEFT KIDNEY: Normal

RIGHT KIDNEY: Normal

LEFT ADRENAL: Normal

RIGHT ADRENAL: Normal

URINARY BLADDER: Normal well distended, anechoic urine, thin-walled

ILIOSACRAL LYMPH NODES: Normal

VISCERAL LYMPH NODES: Normal

STOMACH: Normal empty, some gas shadowing

SMALL INTESTINES: Normal empty, no distension, layering / thickness normal

LARGE INTESTINES: Normal

PANCREAS: Normal isoechoic to surrounding mesentry

GENITAL TRACT: prostate small and hypoechoic
