PATIENT: Aura King 16134
HISTORY: not herself, increased respiratory rate noted by owners. RR 60 and crackles on auscultation, HR 180, systolic murmur g3 PMI L apex
There is acquired degenerative mitral and tricuspid valve disease here with associated severe mitral and moderate tricuspid regurgitation, and eccentric dilation of the left side which is fairly marked. Systolic function is good. Irregular beats are noted and ECG would be advisable. Thoracic radiography is warranted to assess the expected congestive heart failure in this case.
Comments: the mitral and tricuspid valves are thickened and irregular. There is left sided eccentric dilation with slightly thin-walled left ventricle and a moderately to markedly dilated left atrium. the right side of the heart appears subjectively very mildly eccentrically dilated also. Systolic function is hyperdynamic. The heart rate is approximately 160bpm, with irregular beats noted.
